Pork

Our pigs are 3/4 Berkshire. Berks are hardy, well suited to pasture and our ancient Robson Valley forests; they turn out nicely marbled and flavourful meat.

The other 1/4 is Old Spot which rounds out the flavour with just the right amount of extra succulent fat -- a nice combination in the right ratios!

And, these pigs have a friendly temperament which is just great for everyone! They are well taken care of with regular back scratches and visit daily water holes to wallow and play in on hot days! They even have their very own Pig Palace.

These guys are also tasked with various jobs that they love - ROOTING! Their help around the farm includes tilling the soil for next year's garden and turning over the forest paddocks before re-seeding bringing desirable pasture plants back again!

In the fall at Grazing Patch Farm, we give our pigs delicious, non-sprayed apple pomace from a local cidery which makes the pork even a little more tender and gives it a subtly sweet taste. Yumm!

You are what you eat - especially if you're a pig!
